Jennifer Wetherington, MD, is a family and lifestyle medicine physician in Tampa, FL. She is a longtime advocate of nutrition and healthy living, and believes wholeheartedly in using the six pillars of lifestyle medicine to empower people to transform their health and their lives. She received her MD degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and completed her residency at the USF Morton Plant Mease Family Medicine residency in Clearwater FL, where she did research on childhood obesity.
She is a veteran homeschooling mom of five children, and believes that being an educator is one of her most important roles as a physician. She is also a marathon runner, Elliptigo cyclist, and loves spending time in the kitchen trying whole food plant based recipes.
I had been more plant-oriented most of my life (not very interested in meat but ate it anyway), until I watched "Forks Over Knives" and understood WHY I shouldn't eat it. After that, I dove into the research so I could understand the details and share the information with my patients.
